How Our Puppies Are Raised

Here at Clear Creek Goldens we believe healthy puppies begin with healthy and carefully selected Dams and Sires. All of our parents have great temperaments and undergo not only genetic but physical health testing through OFA, PennHip, and PawPrint Genetics. We also run COI's (coefficiency to in-breeding) to ensure our parents are not closely related. This will add to longevity and an overall healthier dog. A healthy puppy begins with healthy parents. It is important that our Dams and Sires are the best examples of what a Golden Retriever should be in order to add value to the Golden Retriever breed and to your home.
Once puppies arrive we begin ENS (early neurological stimulation) at 3 days old. This is performed on days 3 - 16, including gentle handling and daily weights.
ENS is known to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. At 3 weeks old we move into a more advanced curriculum with our puppies. We begin a “10 step puppy massage” every day and increase pressure weekly. We use our 10 step handling exercises to ensure our puppies are exposed to various types of touch, handling and sensation. We also begin socializing our puppies to different sounds, sights, textures, gentle climbing apparatus, running through tunnels, and more. This builds nerve strength and confidence gently and appropriately.
These enrichments help each of them conquer physical and mental challenges as they grow into a confident and well-rounded puppy.
At 6 1/2 ~ 7 weeks of age we conduct a puppy aptitude test on each individual puppy. During the test we focus on 12 important puppy temperament traits to help make sure you know and understand your puppy's needs.
The puppies also recieve shots, deworming, and a complete check up by a licensed veterinarian before going home.
